In my designs, I generally give the house front façades a closed look for privacy. With these horizontal windows, however, I wanted to create as wide a visual range as possible, but the south-facing front façade needed sun protection so the windows were set back deeply. Consequently for the construction, it was necessary to ensure water tightness all around the openings, which is why I decided to design the whole façade as a breakwater.

Copper is such a beautiful metal that I couldn't resist using it as covering. Thanks to the light and to patination, the authentic façade keeps changing, and copper is very much a weatherproof material. 

Copper is also used as roof covering, which means I could give the roof a very original shape.
