As a central theme, a meandering S-shaped form creates numerous courtyards which open up towards the canal or the historic Speicherstadt. On each site, this meandering figure has a thematic tower. The seven-storey meandering buildings are all clad with the same masonry material, while each tower element is designed with a different façade concept.

With one tower, the most visually prominent material – pre-patinated copper – was chosen to reflect the historic copper roofscape of the adjacent warehouses, the Hamburg Speicherstadt. This tower façade consists of two independent structural layers, of which the outer one is a pre-patinated copper mesh cladding produced from single panels with over 80 different formats. Panels are mounted on stainless steel brackets which have been dyed chemically in the same colour as the frames of the windows. This makes them effectively invisible, so that the outer mesh structure seems to float freely in front of the inner façade.

Due to the orientation of the upright openings of the expanded metal - and depending on the viewpoint - the copper skin either appears as a solid element or transparent, allowing the window behind to shine through. This inner façade is designed elementally, integrating shading devices in the double-skin composite windows. In contrast, the exterior solar protection of the meandering buildings is installed laterally in the vertical pilaster stripe profiles of the façade elements stretching across two levels.
