Poznan Adam Mickiewicz University Faculty of Law and Administration, Poland

The design came up as the result of an architectural competition. It is divided into two stages, according to WPiA team. The first of the first stage, which is the eastern didactic building with an entrance hall complex is now completed. The second task is the research building closing entire complex from the west. In the future a library is going to be built along the southern alley. Due to heritage conservators decision and other circumstances the whole complex had to be moved north from the library and a connector built in between.

The second stage includes multi-storey car park in the north which is also an acoustic screen separating the complex from nearby railway tracks. On the facades and in the interior as well  copper is and will be a leading material.

The didactic and administration building are covered in copper mesh which also preserves the interior from sunrays. The ellipsoidal shape of the auditorium is covered in vertical copper plates.

The library building up to second floor is made similarly to the auditorium. All above second floor is going to have a 3D copper-pipe structure partly sheltering the interior from the sun. The architect wanted to achieve a rough basket effect. Copper is also used for interior ceiling and for some wall cladding.
