The client wanted a home that communed directly with nature, not only with the garden as a tangible component of the house, but with the daylight, the sun, rain and wind also influencing the interior.
From the home, contact with the outside world focuses primarily on nature. The meandering line of the outer wall rises where the view can be open, with the level being lowered where a less expansive line of sight from the home is required, resulting in a high degree of privacy. The outer wall and the roof are finished with copper. The architect opted for this natural material because it is appropriate for the client's lifestyle. His sober approach to life, based on simplicity, is expressed in the minimalist and restrained design of the home. Plentiful daylight, in all its varied forms, enters through an opening in the middle of the roof. A new minimalist approach to the details and construction was devised for the client, responding to his architectural requirements of austerity and a pure perception of nature in his home.
