CDA at Ecobuild 2012
Copper Development Association will be exhibiting at EcoBuild 20-22 March at ExCeL (London) – Stand N272. Ecobuild is the world’s biggest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment and the UK’s largest construction event of any kind.
The CDA stand will feature information on all aspects of copper, and copper alloys, in building and construction. On architecture, visitors will be able to register for copies of the popular Copper Architecture Forum magazine. The magazine features recently completed European projects as well as scientific/environmental papers on sustainability of copper and the patination process.
In addition to the architectural information CDA will also provide design guides on copper pipework systems. Copper is still the material of choice for the professional plumber for hot and cold water, central heating, gas and solar thermal installations. Coupled with the reliability and durability of copper, the recyclability makes copper the ideal choice for pipework systems.
The antimicrobial properties of copper have been know about for many years and recent research has proven that copper is an excellent material for use in applications such as door furniture and other touch surfaces in hospitals. Copper’s ability to tackle MRSA in particular mean that copper is becoming the go-to-material for reducing hospital acquired infections.
